St. Louis based rapper Tef Poe and his parent company OverDose Entertainment have finalized a music distribution deal with Universal Music Group Distribution and Bungalo Records. This deal will ensure the availability of Tef Poe’s debut album & future releases in major North American retail outlets. Universal Music Group Distribution/Bungalo will also be responsible for the digital distribution of Tef Poe’s music.

OverDose Entertainment was founded by Tef  Poe and his management team in 2012 and has independently released two previous Tef Poe projects “War Machine 2” and “ The Hero Killer EP.” Both projects have garnered much success through several high end music blogs such as The Smoking Section and 2DopeBoyz.com. Additionally, the projects have resulted in coverage from print magazine editorials by XXL and The Source Magazine’s Unsigned Hype. Bungalo Records  is an independent musical powerhouse. They are responsible for several successful releases from artists such as Bizzy Bone, Kurupt, Patti Labelle, Chino XL, Latoya Jackson, Heavy D, as well as musical producers Mannie Fresh and Rodney Jerkins.

The title of  Tef  Poe’s debut retail album is yet to be revealed. OverDose Entertainment is planning the release of a series of mixtape projects to further promote the Tef  Poe brand while the finishing touches are added to the album – which will be distributed by Universal Music Group Distribution/Bungalo. On the horizon is a collaborative project between Tef  Poe and Rockwell Knuckles by the name of “David Ruffin Theory EP.” Tef is also working on the third installment to his War Machine series, aptly titled “War Machine 3”, and is slated for a summer release date. The final project prior to Tef’s debut retail album will be “Cheer For The Villain” written by Tef  Poe and produced entirely by DJ Burn One this Fall.

Bungalo Records was founded in 2004 by Paul Ring and has since realized success as an indie powerhouse with plenty of Billboard charting records and commercial radio success. Under this distribution deal, OverDose Entertainment brings hip hop recording artist Tef Poe into the fold with the Universal Music Group Distribution/Bungalo family. Overdose Entertainment Chief of Operations Jay “Stretch” Sanders released the following statement in regards to this distribution deal:

“Myself and my business partners wanted to retain ownership of our brand while making a maneuver that would propel us to the next level. Tef Poe is OverDose Entertainment, his hard work and dedication helped us build this. I can’t name one individual that works harder than him. We believe in his music, the message and energy he brings to the table… It’s  refreshing and very much needed in today’s musical climate. Tef is our flagship artist but he is also our business partner and family member. He’s a rare breed of artist with passion, drive, versatility and  a belief  that is unrivaled. We are blessed to have die hard fans and  are fortunate to be in a position to take this nationwide remaining independent with creative control over what we do. We wanted to create the best situation for Tef’s music to be heard and this deal with Universal Music Group Distribution/Bunglalo  records makes complete sense .”

Tef Poe is a hip-hop recording artist represented by Overdose Entertainment from St. Louis, Missouri & distributed by Universal Music Group Distribution/Bungalo. Tef Poe has been featured in XXL’s The Break (March 2012), The Source’s Unsigned Hype (August 2012), and has been retired as a champion on BET’s 106 And Park Freestyle Friday competition (February 2013). Additionally, Tef Poe advocates for human rights as an official performer for Amnesty International.
